DECADENCE Parts Ways With Guitarist, Announces Replacement

December 11, 2008

DECADENCE, the Swedish melodic thrash metal quintet fronted by Kitty Saric (a.k.a. Metallic Kitty),has parted ways with guitarist Simon Galle. He says about his departure, "I feel now that I've been here and done this for a while and I feel satisfied, I apologize to the people that wanted to hear more of my guitar playing but I feel that I had enough, and my lust for this is gone — therefore it would be bad both for me and the rest if I kept on going doing something that takes more energy than it gives. I'm still going to be proud when DECADENCE takes over the world though. I'm going to try for sports now . Love to all the good people I met on the road!"

The band adds: "This is heavy for all of us in DECADENCE because, as you know, we've had problems with our second guitarists for a long time and with Simon it felt like we had finally completed the band. Now we will do everything we can to find the right person with the right motivation to replace him. We have already started the auditions and we hope for the best with this. We wish you the best of luck with your sports and anything you wish to do, Simon!

"Concerning the [upcoming fourth DECADENCE album], Simon wouldn't have played on the tracks regardless, so (as on '3rd Stage Of Decay') all guitar tracks are played by Kenneth [Lantz].

"When the auditioning period started when Simon left we initially thought that this would take time, but as it turns out, we were wrong! We want to welcome our new session guitarist Niklas Skogqvist on board who we all think is a great match to the band! Prepare to see more of this guy in the future. Nicke will be joining us for all upcoming shows."

DECADENCE's third album, "3rd Stage of Decay", which was originally released in 2006 through HTI Records, was reissued on August 28 via Massacre.
